Notice Ramadan

Please note that the traditional fasting month of Ramadan in 2024 is expected to take place from 01.03.2025 to 30.03.2025. During the day, believers are not allowed to eat food or drink, smoke or chew gum in public. As an expression of respect, tourists are also expected not to eat, drink or smoke in public during the fasting hours. There may also be restrictions on hotel operations, such as serving alcohol, restaurant availability, and excursion and entertainment programs.

Note on check-in

Please note that it is the business practice of hotels in the United Arab Emirates / Oman / Qatar/ Bahrain / Saudi Arabia (depending on which region) to require a credit card guarantee or cash deposit upon check-in. This deposit will be refunded upon check-out. However, if anything chargeable is consumed from the minibar, restaurant or any other hotel facility, the associated charges will be deducted from the deposit. Please note that Germans who have a UAE work visa may be charged back at the booked hotel.

Age limits in hotels

Please note that hotels in the Arab Emirates/ Oman/ Qatar/ Bahrain / Saudi Arabia do not accept persons under 21 years of age traveling alone without an older accompanying person. By law, at least one person per room must be 21 years old. Furthermore, no alcohol may be served to persons under 21 years of age.

According to Omani law, alcohol may not be served between 15:00-18:00 from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays, alcohol may be served from 14:00.
